The Fire of Anatolia or Anadolu Atesi is a Turkish dance group consisting of 120 dancers, several choreographers and technical staff.
The group has performed in more than 60 countries from the USA to China and Japan, in front of an audience of approximately 10 million people altogether.
Fire of Anatolia holds two Guinness records, one for the fastest dance performance with 241 steps per minute and another for the largest audience, 400,000 people in Eregli, in the Black Sea Region of the country.
The head of the group is Mustafa Erdogan and the group consists of over 100 dancers, performs more than 3,000 dance moves in one show. At first it might seem that the number of people, 65, who appear on stage simultaneously could be a distraction for viewers, but choreographer Alper Askoy has made sure the entire spectacle, based on the mythology of Asia Minor, comes across as coherent. The trademark of Fire of Anatolia is its combination of traditional Turkish music and dance with contemporary themes.
